The passage at stake which is an excerpt of the third book ov Averroes Great Commentary on De Caelo, includes also a virulent critique of Avicenna. The third book did not reach us in Arabic but only in a Latin version. The fragment is larger than its Latin counterpart. It has been copied around 1542 and was appended to Hojazade's Tah\u0101fut al-fal\u0101sifa to which it is related.
